-
(a) Each holder of an air operator certificate shall ensure that, for each
aeroplane it operates having two or more engines, the aeroplane is capable
of continuing flight at a positive slope at or above the relevant minimum
safe altitudes, to a point 1000 feet above an aerodrome at which the
performance requirements can be met under the following conditions--
-
(1) in the forecasted meteorological conditions expected for the
flight; and
-
(2) with the critical engine inoperative; and
-
(3) with the remaining engines operating within the maximum
continuous power conditions specified.
-
(b) When calculating the en-route limitations in accordance with
paragraph (a), the holder of an air operator certificate shall ensure--
-
(1) the aeroplane is not assumed to be flying at an altitude exceeding
that at which the rate of climb is not less than 300 feet per
minute with all engines operating within the maximum
continuous power conditions specified in the aeroplane flight
manual; and
-
(2) the assumed en-route gradient with one engine inoperative is the
gross-gradient-minus-0.5% gradient.
